The Cyril Effect

South Africa has been experienced a surge of optimism following the election of Cyril Ramaphosa as the president of the ANC in December. This has manifested itself through a stronger rand, record foreign purchases of JSE stocks, reduction in bond yields and an improvement in business confidence.
